Ron Zacapa is recognized as one of the finest rums in the world, yet not everyone knows why. The secret lives in the clouds that drift across the mountains of Quetzaltenango and become part of its aging process. At 2,300 meters above sea level, Zacapa ages in the “House Above the Clouds,” where altitude, cool temperatures, and humidity slow maturation and deepen flavor. The clouds often pass low enough to brush the barrels, creating the distinctive conditions that define Zacapa’s character. While rum matures over years, clouds last only seconds. That contrast inspired Cloud Collab: a limited edition collection created with the very clouds that passed over the aging center, telling the world why Zacapa is one of the finest rums. Using a helicopter, we captured their shapes and movements, transforming fleeting moments into the design of this special packaging. We then brought those clouds beyond the mountains into the streets, digital content, and retail.
